Team Coordinator – Washington, DC

The Position   

Kearns & West seeks a Team Coordinator for the Washington, DC office. The candidate will support a range of internal coordination and collaboration activities along with support for stakeholder engagement, communications, problem solving, dispute resolution, and public engagement and outreach projects. Administrative and coordination experience is required for this role. An interest in being involved in projects involving environment, equity, renewable energy, participatory technology, and climate is also important.  

The position involves a wide range of responsibilities and roles including:  

  • Leading or supporting coordination of meeting logistics and team scheduling Planning, coordination, and facilitation of internal team calls, workshops, and retreats 
  • Attending meetings with stakeholders and providing logistics and note taking support  
  • Developing meeting summaries and reports  
  • Communications and outreach support  
  • Preparation of informational materials, process documentation, and standard operating procedures 
  • Programming and conducting virtual meetings with interactive functions (e.g., Zoom) 
  • Project research and database management  
  • Business development support including assistance with coordinating and tracking project proposals  
  • Tracking project activities and deadlines  
  • General staff support and maintaining office operations  
  • Administrative duties including responding to support requests and coordinating and tracking administrative initiatives 
  • Managing staffing schedules  
  • Coordinating invoicing and expenses  


Successful candidate will have administrative and coordination experience supporting a matrixed team. Successful candidates also have a bachelor’s degree and a background/interest in conflict resolution, natural resource management, renewable energy, water resources, environmental/public policy issues, community/regional planning, air quality, public involvement, conflict resolution, peacebuilding and mediation, or similar. One to three years of work experience is preferred.

 Applicant must demonstrate strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management. Graphic design and InDesign skills are desirable, but not required.
