Larry Chung has joined Kearns & West in Los Angeles. Larry’s areas of expertise lie in the field of government and politics. He is a public relations professional with several years of experience in legislative and policy issues, infrastructure planning, air quality and the environment, political campaigns, and civic engagement projects. Larry brings together a diverse background of experiences from government, technology, non-profit, business, public communications, and labor sectors. He is experienced in planning and coordinating local and statewide campaigns for community engagement.
Larry served as Special Assistant to former Speaker John A. Pérez and acted as the primary liaison for the Speaker to all outside organizations, media, and other elected officials and legislators. He has worked closely with municipal staff, elected officials at all levels, traditional and non-traditional media, community members, non-profit agencies, and the private sector. Sam Magill has joined Kearns & West in its San Francisco office. Sam brings more than ten years of experience in the field of public policy dispute resolution and interest-based negotiation. His main areas of expertise include water quality, flood risk management, and land use planning in the context of complex, multi-party disputes.
Before beginning his career in dispute resolution and interest-based negotiation, Sam worked in a variety of political and public policy roles, including public affairs, managing campaigns, and as a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellow (one of the oldest and most prestigious legislative fellowship programs in the nation).
