The River Management Society recently published an article describing the Deschutes River Basin Scale Opportunities Assessment facilitated by Kearns & West. This basin-wide planning approach aims to increase hydropower and improve environmental sustainability while considering other basin values. Kearns & West conducted a stakeholder assessment to inform development of this collaborative effort and designed and facilitated a stakeholder workshop resulting in unanimous agreement on the objectives of the effort and the research recommendations for the U.S. Department of Energy to conduct to support Deschutes River basin-wide planning.
